Jesse Lee Kincaid Band
Jesse Lee Kincaid, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, vocal, began playing music at age 11 when his uncle, 12 string guitar player and folk legend Fred Gerlach, gave him his first guitar. At age 19 Kincaid drove his 1953 Pontiac on Route 66 from Hollywood to New York City to be a folksinger, going on to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he formed a folk music duo with Taj Mahal. In 1965 Jesse and Taj drove cross country to Hollywood where they founded The Rising Sons, along with Jesse’s pal Ry Cooder. Their album, containing six Kincaid songs, was released on Columbia Records. Don Henley, of The Eagles, recorded Kincaid’s song, “She Sang Hymns Out Of Tune” for his solo album release, "Cass County."
Jesse Lee Kincaid’s album Brief Moments Full Measure contains a baker’s dozen songs written by Kincaid, ranging from the folky, funky “Little Rain”, with Taj Mahal on banjo and harmonica, to “Black Crow,” a country blues with Maria Muldaur singing, and Taj Mahal on banjo, to a touchingly sentimental “My Family,” again with Muldaur on harmony.
Bassist Patrick Campbell has performed/recorded with Big Joe Turner, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Lowell Folsom, Michael Bloomfield, David Nelson, Jerry Garcia, Mark Naftalin, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.
Percussionist Robin Zickel is a recording artist for Higher Octave Music and performs with ELM (Enriching Lives through Music) on orchestral percussion.
Robin was signed as performer, songwriter, and co-producer with Crystal Wind Consort and toured regionally across the U.S. Robin performs on drum set and cajon.
Craig Caffall leads his own band and is guitarist with Maria Muldaur.
